[Two cargo ships drunkenly float with the current; all the passenger's baggage has been thrown overboard. And for not but a moment, maybe under 12 hours, the moon whipped the two ships back to their proper course.
They rocked blindly forward never quite looking forward, with the captains of the two ships leaning port and starboard. Just to get close enough to speak, nearly touching- and one asked the other where the other will go:]
Do your hands not still tremble at the thought of this forgetting that plagued us with our heads laid on the dance floor? The scene stopped around us, it was just our hearts beating, with slow moving colours that were not there before.
Our faces turned inwards to look at each other – and from there on, my heart breaks and I can't think of more. This meaningless magic is mawkish but fruitful; we stepped out of line and then through my front door.
I could feel her arms tangled with mine under the table, even after she'd gone and my husband came home. Not confessional poetry but a lesson in language; it's just alanis morissette and a bottle of wine.
I've lifted this moment to such great disproportions! We'll soon just forget it and move on with our lives. The currents came back with the sun, and such dischord. And now I know that it's over, and I've delivered my lines.
[He said: “I think I'll jump over, I've been tracking your movements, and wherever you're going I'd like to follow your course.”
The captain responded something I can't remember,
but they kept on quite like this until the light of the morn.]
